Oura Ring 4

The best-known smart ring. It starts at $349 in the US and most features need an Oura membership: in Europe €5.99 a month or €69.99 a year, with the first month free. Over two years the membership adds about €140 to the price of the ring. Many people also search for it as “aura ring”.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

No subscription required. Launch price around $399, up to about 7 days of battery on larger sizes, charging case included. Works with Android phones only.

RingConn Gen 2 and Gen 2 Air

No subscription. The Gen 2 Air costs $199 and claims up to 10 days of battery; the Gen 2 claims up to 12 days.

Ultrahuman Ring Air

No subscription required. About €379 on Amazon.de, with a claimed battery life of 4–6 days.

WHOOP

Not a ring but a screenless band, and it only works with a membership: in Europe from €199 a year (One) to €399 a year (Life), device included.

How to choose

If you want a smart ring with no recurring costs, compare price and battery life: Eclipse, RingConn, Samsung and Ultrahuman need no subscription. For sleep tracking, battery life matters: a ring you charge once a week stays on at night without a second thought. Check your size before you buy, and write to us if you’re unsure.
